Today was incredible! We went on a boat tour and learned more about the history of Prague! I am enchated by not only the sights but the history of Prague as well. While American history usually begins around 1776 with the signing of the Declaration of Independance, medieval European history dates back to 1450.
Tonight we went on a Ghost Tour through Prague!! It was awesome especially because it was led by a gentleman named Carl from France who was absolutly hilarious! Here is a picture of Carl leading the group complete with his lantern, cape, and bowler hat!

I will retell you my favorite ghost story from tonight!
This is a picture of the "House of Death"

This ghost story starts with a couple who are married and have a child about 2 years old. One day they cannot seem to find the child and they search high and low, a search party goes on for months even years and no signs of the missing 2 year old. The father cannot bare the pain and dies tragically leaving the mother alone. However, she is never really alone because she likes to take in travelers and give them food and a warm bed to sleep in. This goes on for years as a way for her to deal with her pain and suffering. One day she takes in a traveler who she believes is very handsome and he stays longer than any traveler has ever stayed with her. They fall in love and get married. The traveler after months gets into contact with his parents and invites them to meet his wife. When he tells them the address they are immidiatly alarmed because they recognize the address. They tell their son that decades ago they were traveling performers staying in Prague. The parents were unable to have children and as they were walking down the street they saw a little boy around 2 years old and they thought he was a miracle from God. They kept him and raised him as their own. When he found out that he had married his mother all hell broke loose in the city. Everyone was talking about what had happened and that the missing boy had been found but he was now married to his mother. Because incest was against the law the son/husband was sentenced to death. The mother/wife lost her mind and because she was "already punished enough by her own mind" she was not sentenced to death but rather her punishment was to watch her lover/son be exicuted by hanging across the street from the apartment balcony. She watched the exocution at 3pm from her balcony. She could be seen everyday at 3pm after that standing on her balcony with horror spread across her face. Until one day she did not come out. Then another. And another. Until finally the people of Prague began to worry about her and they kicked in the door to find her dead, covered in black welts on her skin. She would come to be known as patient 0 for the Bubonic Plague. To this day at 3pm people have claimed to see the figure of a woman on the balcony of this apartment.
Here are a few other pictures from our ghost tour that have stories to go along with them...if youre lucky I'll tell you more sometime!
