Today was jam packed with all kinds of water! We first took the train to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans which is a town outside of Amsterdam off the lake of Zaanse. This town felt like I was walking through a fairy tale. Everything was green and lush. The homes were cradled by the trees and the windmills are the greatest attraction. Click through this slideshow to see some of the scenery and my wonderful travelmates!!
I felt like I took a step bcak in time walking through Zaandijk Zaanse Schans the entire town revolves around farming, shopping, and community. We got to go into a cheese museum and tatse what seemed to be hundreds of types of cheese!! Here is a picture of me with a milk bucket on my head that was very close to getting stuck!

The animals here were almost as enchanting as the people! I made lots of duck friends...no one tell them I am an ally with the geese!!
This accordian man welcomed us and played us a song he came up with off the top of his head about Texas...the lyrics were limited to lots of things about cowboys and the weather which led me to believe that he may not have had much to pull from haha! He even taught us a Holland classic dance which reminded me that I have no rhythm and that square dancing is not one of my passtimes. I'll put the video here!
This may be the cutest accordian man I have ever seen! But not as cool as Terry Theis the Kerrville accordian legend and my friend.

We finished our day off with you guessed it more water!! We went on a canal tour with the best boat crew! I learned a lot about Amsterdam and the Netherlands in general! Something that I found very interesting was that at the top of each building is a statue and these are because before there was written language you had to describe the houses by their statue for example "The house with the two headed men".
The last photo in this collage in bottom right corner are the famous dancing houses!
